Homeowners and landlords will be able to apply for vouchers to make their homes more energy efficient. The grants will cover at least two-thirds of the cost, up to £5,000 per household. For low income households, voucher will cover the full cost at up to £10,000.

The exact details on the eligibility criteria have yet been released by the government, but we anticipate most homeowners and landlords will be covered. The next stage is to obtain a quote from an accredited supplier and once the type of work is approved, the voucher will be issued.

WHY SHOULD I APPLY FOR THE GRANT?

The better question here might be why wouldn't you? If you already had plans to improve the enery efficiency of your property this is a fantastic opportunity to get a significant portion of the costs if not the full amount funded by the goverment. Of course the savings go well beyond the initial installation of the improvements. The long term savings on utility bills to heat your property will be substantial.
